Do gift cards expire if not used?

Expiration policy for a Thankbox amount which has not been redeemed

When a Thankbox with a collection has been sent, recipients have up to one year to claim their collected amount.

We send multiple reminders throughout this time to both the recipient and the Thankbox creator, letting them know that the gift needs to be claimed.

If the amount isn't claimed within one year and we haven't heard back from either the recipient or the creator, then the collection may be donated to a charity at our discretion. The charities we typically donate to are:

• Save the Children
• Doctors Without Borders
• Carbonfund

Expiration policy for a Thankbox amount which has been issued as a gift card or prepaid card

If a recipient has already redeemed their collected amount as a gift card or prepaid card, then the expiration policy of the specific supplier or merchant applies. These policies may vary but are detailed in the terms and conditions of each option as you progress through them in the picker.

Thankbox is not responsible for an expired gift card after it's been issued.
